Accepting New Clients - Now Scheduling for March 2026
Hi! I’m Trish…
I am a graduate student pursuing my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. Originally from Charlotte, I moved to Winston-Salem after earning my B.S. in Psychology from Appalachian State University. Winston-Salem has quickly become home, and I am excited to serve this community as a counseling professional. I chose this path because I am deeply passionate about the importance of mental health as part of overall well-being. I am strongly inspired by the powerful impact therapy has had on my own mental health journey, and I believe that everyone deserves access to supportive, compassionate mental health care.
My counseling style is warm and encouraging. I aim to create a space where you feel comfortable, accepted as you are, and truly understood. I recognize that each person’s story and needs are unique, which is why my approach is flexible and personalized. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice and integrates multiple therapeutic approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I appreciate these frameworks because they provide practical tools for managing difficult thoughts and emotions. I am especially drawn to practices centered on mindfulness and self-compassion, both of which create new perspectives and help cultivate insight, growth, and hope. Our work together will center on exploring the challenges you’re facing at your own pace, identifying strategies that feel right for you, and setting achievable goals that support your mental wellness. Through a collaborative process, my hope is to help you recognize your strengths, build skills that promote lasting stability and relief, and move toward positive changes that support a more balanced and fulfilling life.
My areas of interest include supporting individuals navigating stress, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, identity exploration, and major life transitions. I am a strong ally to the LGBTQ+ community and am deeply committed to providing affirming and inclusive care. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, reading psychology books, and spending quality time with my golden retriever. I would be happy to connect and explore whether working together feels like a good fit for your mental wellness journey.
